ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
After graduating from Tata Institute of Social Services(TISS), Mr Amitabh Mehrotra completed his Masters,(1987) in Medical & Psychiatric Social Work.
Despite being afflicted with cerebral palsy with mild spasticity, he remained undeterred by the odds he faced. He served Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS) wef from 1987-94 in the capacity of Officer-in-Charge (Research & Evaluation Cell) and
then as Programme Officer (Documentation Cell) for Sahbhagi Shikshan Kendra at Lucknow, 1994-96. His achievements in face of all odds are an example of how attitudes can triumph facts. Enthused by this, he
translated his ever cherished dream of providing rehabilitation services to people with disabilities(PWDs).
He is also:
- A member of Governing Council of National Institute of Empowerment of People with Muliple Disabilities(NIEPMD), Chennai.
- A member of Grant – in – Aid Committee, Dept. of Handicapped Welfare, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh (UP).
- A member of Desk Appraisal Committee of Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA), of Barabanki, UP and of several other Committees.
