CBR : Community Based Rehabilitation
Objective ( Four Fold Strategy )
- Sensitizing Primary and Secondary Stake Holders (Primary stands for PWDs* and their families. Secondary for Community and various other bodies viz Government Machinery at Block, District, State and National Level etc).
- Capacity Building of primary and secondary stake holders.
- Direct interventions with PWDs- physio/occupational therapy, corrective surgeries, providing aids and appliances, formation of self help groups and financial assistance through funds.
- Influencing Government Policies through Advocacy.
Rural CBR Program
The above graph shows the quantum increase in the number of villages, covered under the Rural CBR program, between 2002-2008.
Another community based rehabilitation program(CBR) has started in Nindura Block of Distt. Barabanki from Sep-2009 in 50 villages.

- Training midwives on conducting safe deliveries.

- Providing tricycle, crutches, wheel chairs, toilet chairs, hearing aids and calipers free of cost to the needy.

| Economic Independence |
Aids and appliances provided to 48 self help groups in Deva Block, to start micro-enterprises like dairies,tailoring business, provision shops, cycle spare parts and repairing shops. |
